I'm Feeling Old. Again.

She looks up at me with her sweet, 9 year old eyes. "You know which book I really like? A light for Greytowers. Did you ever read it?"

"I did," I replied. "But not for a long time. I probably haven't read it since I was your age."

She looked puzzled. "That can't be. The book isn't THAT old."

Suddenly her eyes weren't so sweet anymore. Way to make me feel old, kid.

She might very well think the book came out just before the movie. Since you're not a pre-schooler...

Does that help?

awww... dont let it get to you. kids think all adults are old. i know i did. i remember the first time this happend to me. my friend's six year old son was playing a board game i used to play when i was six and he reacted the same way as your young friend did. he said, wow, that must have been a looonngg time ago. i remember laughing at him because i thought it was so funny. he was such a cute litle boy.

Oiy. But you are not that old! Only in the little kid's eyes you seem so much older than they are!

May you reach a time where you get much older than you are now and may good things happen until then!

I loved that book. Ms. Grimshaw was her name, right?

No, I feel old, in college with kids half my age.
